Inktober is a challenge to create an ink drawing every day in October and post it. I have been doing drawings of children’s faces. There are so many different expressions and emotions shown by those expressions that I may never run out of inspiration. My main problem is that I don’t know much about modelling and shading with ink. I have done some drawings with crosshatching and some with just lines close or further apart to do the shading.
The 20th drawing, done yesterday, is of a boy with a mohawk and a bored, rather blank, stare. There was a lot of shadow in this picture so I used crosshatching.

Drawing 21
Today’s drawing is a little girl with a grin. She seems quite happy. The picture doesn’t have much shadow so I used close lines to darken areas. A little bit of modelling on the face, like the dimples, was done with light lines.
