inktober: a challenge to create an ink drawing every day in October and post it.
Today’s drawing reminds me of my last dog, who lived to age 20. He was a mixed breed that looked just like a Border Collie, only slightly smaller and with a shorter muzzle. So I shortened the muzzle of my reference dog and I am calling this a portrait of my dog.
The reference photo is by Zoë Gayah Jonker and I found it on Unsplash.
Painting
I painted this moose last year. Again, it was inspired by a photo from Unsplash, but I did not keep track of the photographer’s name. The piece was done in acrylic paint.
I’ve seen moose up close in the wild – well, not too close. They are enormous and powerful.
Speaking of moose, I was once challenged to make a sculpture from things found in a recycling bin. So I made this moose from cardboard, the neck of a plastic bottle, and a tin can. This was a quick build. I made two other diorama-type creations that I may post another day. I had a lot of fun making the three.
