inktober: a challenge to create an ink drawing every day in October and post it.
Another flower today, this time an iris.
In Victorian times every flower had a meaning. This language of flowers gives several meanings to iris flowers. They can mean faith, hope, courage, and wisdom. The different colours of irises can modify the meaning. For example, a purple iris means admiration and a yellow iris represents passion.

Painting
It has been a long time since I did any kayaking. This painting brings back some good memories of quiet rivers slipping between wooded, overhung banks. So peaceful – at least until you hit the white water!
This was painted a couple of years ago. It is acrylic on stretched canvas, 12×16 inches.
