inktober: a challenge to create an ink drawing every day in October and post it.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It is a busy day so I did a very simple drawing – some bright yellow flowers from a plant on my table. The flowers are almost done and starting to curl and wither.

Temari Ball

This ball has four butterflies on it, each in a different colour. They are all done with the same pattern. It is again the kiku stitch, this time woven.

The stitch is not done in a full circle as usual, but only a segment of the circle is used for each wing. Depicting butterflies is not a new idea but the pattern used here is one I devised myself.
