The ink drawing today is another rose from my friend’s garden. I really like doing flowers. This was a quick drawing, took less than an hour to finish. I am still keeping it simple.
Ink drawing is getting a little easier but I still have a way to go. I am still making mistakes that cannot be corrected.
It may be time to start experimenting with the watercolors again. Guess its back to YouTube for some watercolor videos. The nice thing about the videos is I can play them over and over again until I absorb the information.
Painting
I just did this painting and I am not sure that it is done yet. I will let it sit for a few days and see if there is anything I want to change. I want to thank my art teacher for all the help he is. I learn something from him every week in the guided open studio he runs.
When I lived up north in the bush our house was at the top of a hill looking over the river valley. There was a tree that I liked to sit under and contemplate the beauty of the view. I absorbed a lot of peace there. That memory led me to do this painting.
Temari Ball
I have been making Temari balls for about 6 years so I have quite a few of them. I have given away more balls than I have left and I have sold a few. This ball is on display on my table. It is a recent one done in traditional patterns. Browns and neutrals are not my favourite colours but I do like the three dimensional look of the band of weaving.
